Where should I place my radio advertising?
Different programming appeals to different audiences. However, this can be an advantage for you. Y105 is oriented towards adults between the ages of 35 and 65 that listen to popular music. If you want to reach active buyers in this category, then Y105 lets you efficiently target your advertising dollars directly at the people that you are trying to reach.
What is the secret to radio advertising?
The same thing with all mass media advertising: REPETITION. And when you are finished with that, try adding a little more repetition. There is a reason why you see those TV ads over and over again. And there is a reason why you know where the Pizza Hut is located and why you know what your bologna’s first name is. In other words, don’t plan to buy just one expensive Super Bowl-style ad. Buy lots of little ones, and scatter them over time. That way you will get maximum exposure for maximized results and lots of (you guessed it): REPETITION.
There must be some limit to repetition, right?
No, not really. The more ads that you buy,
the more product you will sell.
It is true that you should not run the same ad every 30 minutes: People will get bored with it. But you can have a few different ads for the same product running at the same time. To reinforce each other, however, they should sound somewhat alike: same lead-in, same tagline. They still should not run all together in one hour. Spread them out and give them air.
How long should I advertise on Y105?
A good rule of thumb is that it takes about four to six months to evaluate whether something is working. Tweaks to the schedule and content of your advertising within that initial period should also be done so that you get the most out of your advertising.
How can I measure the results?
To find out if your advertising is working for you, there are some strategies that you can use. You can try giving something away to people that mention your commercial, or advertising a specific desirable product only on the radio. Of course, whatever you promote has to be something that the customers actually want enough to mention it.
